Delicious Ground Rice Savouries

Ingredients: (Makes 12)

  1. 125g ground rice,

  2. 3 tablespoons sugar,

  3. 1 glass of water,

  4. vanilla essence or cardamon powder,

  5. 4-5 tbsp. finely grated coconut.

  1. Put the ground rice in a heavy frying pan and place the pan over a medium flame. Stir the rice and keep roasting until it turns a few shades darker. Remove from heat then.

  2. Make a syrup by boiling together the water and sugar. Flavour it with either vanilla essence or cardamon powder.

  3. When sugar is well dissolved, pour in the roasted ground rice and keep stirring until all moisture evaporates and mixture leaves the sides of the pan.

  4. When still warm, form into small balls and roll into grated coconut.
